Description

Yummy homemade crumpets.
Instruction tip
This amount will make 13-15 crumpets depending on how much you fill the rings. It takes a while to make them all, but believe me, they are worth it. You can also vary them by adding berries to the batter which are fresh or frozen.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Pour the water into a mixing bowl and whisk yeast into it until dissolved. Then add the baking powder vinegar and salt.

Step 2 of 4

Cover the bowl and leave for about 1 hour in your oven at 30°C. The mixture will begin to rise and form bubbles on the surface. Do not disturb the mixture as you want to keep all the aeration that has formed.

Step 3 of 4

Butter or spray with cooking oil the inside of four muffin rings and place them in a frypan (make sure you also spray the bottom of the pan with cooking oil).

Step 4 of 4

Set your stove top to low heat and with a large spoon, proceed to fill the rings three quarters of the way up. Allow crumpets to cook for 10 minutes or so and until you see that the tops nave set. Then turn over and let the crumpet cook until slightly golden.
