For the sauce
  • 60grams butter
  • 1tablespoons golden syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 550grams banana bread
  • 6 scoops vanilla ice cream (to serve)
  • 100grams slivered almonds, toasted (to garnish)

Method

Step 1 of 3

Place butter, brown sugar, cream and golden syrup in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until butter has melted and sauce is smooth. Increase heat and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Set aside.

Step 2 of 3

Remove banana bread from packaging and slice thickly. Place each portion onto a serving plate and top with the sliced banana.

Step 3 of 3

Top with a scoop of ice cream, spoon over some of the sauce and decorate with almonds. Serve immediately.
