- 800grams potatoes brushed, peeled, washed, roughly chopped
- 50grams olive oil spread
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1tablespoons Vegemite®
- 2 spring onions, thinly sliced
- 5milliliter olive oil cooking spray
- 600grams beef sausages
- 400grams green beans, trimmed
- 2tablespoons brown onion instant gravy
Description
Bangers and mash are always a hit. But when the sausages are premium beef and the mash is seasoned with iconic Vegemite, the dish is even better.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Place potato in a large saucepan. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil. Boil, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drain. Return to pan. Mash potatoes until smooth. Stir in spread, milk, Vegemite® and onion until combined.
Step 2 of 4
Meanwhile, spray a large frying pan with oil. Heat over medium-high heat. Cook sausages for 10 minutes, turning, or until golden and cooked through.
Step 3 of 4
Cook beans in a saucepan of boiling water for 1 minute or until tender. Drain.
Step 4 of 4
Place gravy powder in a small jug. Add 1 cup boiling water and stir until slightly thickened. Serve sausages on mash with beans and gravy, and seasoned with pepper.
