Method

Step 1 of 5

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line bases of 3x24cm springform cake tins. If you only have 1 cake tin this size you can do each cake separately.

Step 2 of 5

Prepare chocolate cake as per packet instructions. Pour into prepared tin and bake for 35 minutes or until cooked when tested. Cool in tin for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Clean and reline tin. Test with a skewer.

Step 3 of 5

Prepare 1 of the vanilla cake mixes as per packet instructions using the strawberry purée instead of the water and adding the food colouring. Pour mixture into prepared tin and bake for 35-40 minutes or until cooked when tested with a skewer. Clean and reline the tin.

Step 4 of 5

Prepare second vanilla cake mix as per packet instructions and bake as before.

Step 5 of 5

To assemble cake; Whip cream until soft peaks form. Empty frosting into a bowl and gently fold in cream. Spread top of each cake with frosting and place on top of each other. Cover sides with frosting. Dip bases of cherries into melted white chocolate and arrange on top of cake. Note: Put chocolate cake at the bottom, strawberry flavoured cake in the middle and vanilla cake on top.
