  • 1 medium carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 300grams baby potatoes, halved
  • 200grams turnip, peeled and chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, leaves removed and chopped
  • 1 medium white onion, peeled and chopped
  • 2tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 1/4 cup vegetable stock
  • 3/4 cup red wine
  • 1tablespoons mixed herbs

A gamey casserole packed with chunky root vegetables.

Method

Step 1 of 6

Heat up a large pan to a medium heat and then add the oil to the pan.

Step 2 of 6

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.

Step 3 of 6

Fry the onion, carrot & celery for 4 minutes.

Step 4 of 6

Add the diced venison and herbs to the pan and fry while mixing for a further 4 minutes.

Step 5 of 6

Add the meat and veg to a large casserole dish and then add the rest of the ingredients and mix together well.

Step 6 of 6

Place the oven and allow to cook for 150 minutes before serving.
