Description

Use this recipe to whip up a sponge in a hurry.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Line a cake tin deep enough for a sponge cake with baking paper. Preheat fan forced oven to 170°C

Step 2 of 5

Place eggs and sugar in bowl and beat until it becomes light and fluffy, pale in colour.

Step 3 of 5

Add sifted flour in three increments and fold into mixture gently so to become light and airy.

Step 4 of 5

Pour mixture into cake pan and place in the oven for 35 mins.

Step 5 of 5

Check with a skewer that it comes out clean and cool. I cut my sponge cake in half and decorated with filling. Decorate with strawberries or any berries, add whipped cream. I also added chocolate dessert sauce. I also sprinkled cake with icing sugar.
