- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2teaspoons salt
- 1 cup water, boiling

Description
Date & nut loaf with ginger. Just right for morning tea.
Instruction tip
Brown sugar can be used instead of white sugar. Ginger is quite strong, so you might want to lessen the amount. Can be spread with butter.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Place chopped dates, walnuts, sultanas, ginger, sugar, bicarbonate soda, and butter into a bowl. Pour boiling water over and mix well. Allow to cool
Step 2 of 4
Then add the flour, salt and beaten egg. Mix well again.
Step 3 of 4
Place in greased and floured tins. Use two loaf roll tins or loaf pans.
Step 4 of 4
Bake for 50 minutes at 175°C
