Instruction tip
Adding crusty bread and a nice wine is almost going without saying but up to you.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Heat oven to 280°C (fan forced, maybe 300°C if not) and select grill function. Put a sheet of foil on a tray suited to the oven and spray it with canola (or other) oil.

Step 2 of 4

Leave heads and tails on sardines but gut and clean them, wash too, of course. Slash on both sides. Lay them on the foil and cook 3-4 mins each side with butter slices on top.

Step 3 of 4

In the meanwhile wash some green salad leaves and drain. Mix 1 tbsp lemon juice with 1 tbsp red wine vinegar and 3 drops Tabasco sauce in a small container and shake to mix.

Step 4 of 4

Assemble, with Woolies medium salsa and eat!
