- 2teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 red capsicum, cut into strips
- 1 green capsicum, cut into strips
- 1teaspoons caster sugar
- 2teaspoons white wine vinegar
- 450grams Woolworths Angus beef & caramelised onion sausages
- 125grams cream cheese, chopped, at room temperature
- 1/3 cup thickened cream
- 30grams unsalted butter, chopped
- 1/4 cup shredded tasty cheese
- 6 Woolworths hot-dog rolls, split, lightly toasted
- 1/4 bunch continental parsley, leaves picked
Description
Perfect for easy entertaining, these delicious sausage subs packed with capsicum, onion and cheese deliver a burst of flavour with every bite.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook onion and capsicum for 5 minutes or until beginning to soften. Stir in sugar, vinegar and 1 tbs water. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes or until liquid has evaporated.
Step 2 of 4
Remove the lid and push mixture to the side of the pan. Add sausages and cook for 10 minutes, turning, or until cooked through.
Step 3 of 4
Place cream cheese, cream and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, stirring halfway, or until smooth.
Step 4 of 4
Place rolls on a board. Fill with sausages and capsicum mixture. Drizzle with cream-cheese sauce. Sprinkle with cheese and parsley. Season with freshly ground black pepper. Serve.
