Description

A classic Sicilian almond brittle that is easy to prepare and delicious.

Method

Step 1 of 6

In a frypan on low heat toast almonds until lightly golden brown.

Step 2 of 6

Transfer toasted almonds to a medium saucepan on low heat add sugar and vanilla essence, mix well.

Step 3 of 6

As soon as the sugar liquifies and turns into light dark colour, transfer mixture to either a greased slab of marble or baking paper.

Step 4 of 6

With another piece of greased baking paper press down the mixture.

Step 5 of 6

Using a rolling pin smooth out mixture and remove baking paper.

Step 6 of 6

While still warm proceed to cut into pieces and serve. Enjoy!
