Description

With a zesty crunch and a hint of chocolate, this traditional Maltese dish is a rich and creamy baked dessert perfect for entertaining with friends and family. 

Method

Step 1 of 5

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Line a small 6-8 inch cake tin with some butter.

Step 2 of 5

Place the puff pastry at the bottom and the edges, keeping some pastry for the top.

Step 3 of 5

In a bowl, crack the eggs and combine with the ricotta, chocolate, orange zest and 2 tbs of juice.

Step 4 of 5

Empty contents into the cake tin and cover with puff pastry, tighten the edges together. Brush with milk.

Step 5 of 5

Pierce the top of the pastry a few times with the fork and bake in the oven for 35 minutes before serving.
