  • 1tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 1tablespoons seed mustard
  • 1 pinch black pepper (for seasoning)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 clove garlic, crushed
  • 6 beef rump steaks
  • 1 pinch salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup red wine

Method

Step 1 of 2

Mix wine, oil, mustard, garlic and thyme in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper pour into a shallow dish. Add steaks to marinade and turn to coat then cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight. Remove meat from refrigerator and allow to come to room temperature.

Step 2 of 2

When ready to cook, drain excess marinade from meat. Cook on the char grill turning once until cooked to your liking. Allow 3-4 minutes each side for medium, depending on the thickness of the meat.
