  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1kilograms classic marinated beef roast
  • 1 egg
  • 3tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch pink salt ground (to taste)

Method

Step 1 of 12

Preheat oven to 190°C. Line a baking dish with baking paper and place a small rack into the dish.

Calculate cooking time according to the packet instructions.

Remove plastic wrapping and place meat onto rack. Roast for calculated time, turning halfway through.

Meanwhile, sift flour and salt into a bowl and make a well in the centre.

Whisk egg, milk and horseradish cream in a jug. Stir into the flour until smooth.

Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Five minutes before end of the cooking time for the meat, increase oven temperature to 220°C.

Place 1 teaspoon of oil into each hole of a medium 12-hole muffin tray.

Remove meat from oven and cover with foil and allow to rest for 15 minutes.

Place muffin tray on the top shelf and heat for 5 minutes.

When oil is heated, remove from oven and quickly pour batter evenly between the holes. Return to oven and cook for 20 minutes until golden and puffed.

Slice meat and serve with Yorkshire puddings.
