  • 450grams beef mince
  • 1 medium yellow onion, peeled, diced small
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce, ready-made
  • 1 head cabbage, cored, leaves separated, blanched
  • 200grams mozzarella, shredded
  • 50grams parmesan, grated

Description

This lasagna with a cabbage twist is perfect. If you're looking for an easy recipe that's light and tasty, without all the starchy carbohydrates.

Method

Step 1 of 5

Preheat the oven to 200℃/180℃ fan-forced. Place a pot adding in the canola oil onto medium-high heat on the stovetop for 1 minute. Season and add in the beef mince, browning for 8 minutes.

Step 2 of 5

Drain any excess fat from the beef adding in the onions to cook for 5 minutes before stirring in the minced garlic for 1 minute.

Step 3 of 5

Pour in the marinara sauce reducing the heat, simmer for 30 minutes until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened.

Step 4 of 5

Coat the bottom of a baking dish with a layer of sauce followed by a layer of cabbage leaves. Add another layer of sauce topping it off with mozzarella and parmesan. Continue building the layers finishing with a layer of cheese until all the ingredients are used up, approximately 3 layers.

Step 5 of 5

Bake for 40 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before portioning.
