    Helping Fareshare cook free, freshly prepared meals for Australians in need

    Our partnership with FareShare

    FareShare runs Australia’s two largest charity kitchens, rescuing surplus food and cooking it into free nutritious meals for people who need them most. Food rescued from Woolworths makes up the biggest proportion of FareShare ingredients helping to ensure its ready-to-eat meals are healthy and delicious.

    With the help of hundreds of regular volunteers, FareShare cooks millions of meals every year for frontline charities including soup vans, homeless shelters and women’s refuges.

    The Woolworths and FareShare partnership began in 2008 with a food rescue trial in two Victorian stores and has since grown to over 100 stores donating around 50,000 kgs of surplus fresh food every month.

    Thanks to our team and customers, 2022 has been another record year of support for FareShare, donating over $1.5 million cash and over 600,000 kilograms of food. Including ove $450,000 donated by Woolworths from the sale of Woolworths branded ready meals from August 17 - September 13.

With the ongoing pandemic, cost of living pressures and natural disasters hurting millions of Australians, the need for free, nutritious meals has never been greater.”

    Woolworths and FareShare helping feed Australians in need

    Woolworths is authorised to fundraise on behalf of FareShare Australia Inc (89 304 710 474) from 1 July, 2022 - 30 June, 2025. 100% of funds raised by Woolworths Group Limited support FareShare to collect donations of meat, vegetables and eggs from Woolworths stores which their chefs and volunteers cook it into complete, nutritious meals for distribution free of charge to Australians in need.

    50 cents from the sale of each Woolworths branded single-serve, chilled ready meal sold at Woolworths supermarkets between 17th August to 27th September will be donated to FARESHARE with the remainder of the purchase price being received by Woolworths.
