  • 188grams dried egg noodles
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup Woolworths light thickened cream
  • 2tablespoons gochujang paste
  • 1tablespoons Macro extra virgin olive oil
  • 200grams Woolworths smoked streaky bacon, chopped
  • 80grams parmesan, finely grated
  • 1/4 bunch basil, small leaves picked

Description

Carbonara with a kick! This spicy noodle version is a creamy, dreamy delight that's ready in a snap.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Cook noodles in a large saucepan of boiling water for 5 minutes or until tender. Drain and transfer to a bowl. Wipe saucepan clean.

Step 2 of 4

Whisk eggs, cream and gochujang paste in a jug. Heat oil in saucepan over medium-high heat. Add bacon and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes or until crispy. Transfer half of the bacon to a bowl.

Step 3 of 4

Add cream mixture, reduce heat and cook, stirring, for 1-2 minutes or until sauce thickens. Remove from heat. Add noodles and half of the parmesan. Toss to combine.

Step 4 of 4

Spoon noodles into serving bowls. Top with reserved bacon, remaining parmesan, basil and freshly ground black pepper. Serve.
