Description

Marinated in a tangy, sweet and spicy Filipino sauce and grilled to perfection, these easy sawsawan pork skewers are sure to be a hit at your next barbecue.

Instruction tip
Prep tip:

If using bamboo skewers, soak them in cold water for 30 minutes prior to threading pork to prevent scorching.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Combine soy sauce, tomato sauce, sugar, oyster sauce, lemon juice, garlic, sesame oil and cinnamon in a large bowl. Reserve 1 cup. Add pork to bowl and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.

Step 2 of 3

Thread pork onto 12 metal skewers. Preheat a barbecue or chargrill pan over medium-high heat. Spray skewers with oil and add to grill. Cook, turning occasionally and basting with reserved soy mixture, for 5-7 minutes or until browned and cooked. Transfer to a plate.

Step 3 of 3

To make the sauce, combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Serve pork drizzled with sauce and sprinkled with coriander.
