  • 250grams pork mince, peeled and grates
  • 2teaspoons oregano, dried
  • 2tablespoons tomato puree
  • 2 cups beef stock, hot, made with 1 stock cube
  • 1tablespoons balsamic vinegar, chopped into florets
  • 500grams gnocchi
  • 60grams parmesan, grated
  • 40grams mozzarella, grated

Description

This rich cottage pie gets an Italian twist with a cheesy gnocchi topping instead of mash.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Heat the oil in a large, non-stick pan on medium heat and cook the onions and mushrooms for 5 minutes, stirring. Stir in the garlic, mince and oregano and cook for 4-5 minutes.

Step 2 of 4

Stir in the tomato puree and cook for 1 minute. Add the stock and vinegar and partially cover with the lid. Cook for 15 minutes until reduced.

Step 3 of 4

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Cook the gnocchi according to pack instructions and drain well.

Step 4 of 4

Pour the mince into an ovenproof dish, top with gnocchi and grated parmesan and mozzarella and bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden, crisp and bubbling.
