  • 6 Woolworths Cadbury® chocolate hot cross buns, halved horizontally
  • 333mL choc chip cookie ice-cream (see tip), softened
  • 200grams dark chocolate, melted, plus extra to serve
  • 100grams strawberries, tops trimmed, halved

Description

Up the sweet stakes with this twist on classic hot cross buns. Filled with a moreish ice-cream and chocolate filling, it’s a decadent dish that will win the hearts of dessert lovers.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Grease and line a 7cm-deep, 11x21cm (base) loaf pan with baking paper, extending paper above edges on all sides.

Step 2 of 4

Place bun bases along base of loaf pan, pressing down to make an even layer.

Step 3 of 4

Top bun bases with half of the ice-cream. Working quickly, spoon over half of the chocolate. Cover and freeze for 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining ice-cream and chocolate. Top with bun lids.

Step 4 of 4

Cover and freeze for 4 hours or overnight. To serve, top with strawberries and drizzle over extra chocolate.
