Description

This irresistible pastitsio bake is made even easier with the delicious and convenient Dolmio sauce.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Spread 1/4 cup pasta sauce over the base of a 2L (8-cup) oval ovenproof dish. In a food processor, process bread to form crumbs. Transfer to a medium bowl. Add ricotta, sour cream and garlic and mix well.

Step 2 of 4

Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Add mince and cook, stirring to break up any lumps, for 3-4 minutes or until browned. Add remaining pasta sauce. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes or until mince is cooked.

Step 3 of 4

Meanwhile, cook pasta following packet instructions or until al dente. Drain. Cool slightly.

Step 4 of 4

Arrange pasta over sauce in base of prepared dish. Top with 1/2 cup mozzarella, then mince mixture. Smooth surface. Top with ricotta mixture and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Scatter with basil. Serve
