Description
A heavenly dessert that combines the creamy richness of traditional tiramisu with the sweet and tangy flavours of berries. This easy-to-make berry-misu will wow on any occasion.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Set aside half of the berries on a large plate to thaw. Combine instant coffee with 1 ½ cups warm water in a shallow bowl until coffee dissolves. Using a vegetable peeler, shave chocolate. Using electric beaters, beat cream and icing sugar mixture in a large bowl until firm peaks form.
Step 2 of 3
Working with half of the sponge fingers, dip one at a time briefly into the coffee mixture, turning to coat, then place over the base of a 2L (8-cup-capacity) rectangular dish. Top with half of the cream. Spread evenly. Scatter defrosted berries over the cream. Drizzle evenly with any plate juices. Sprinkle three-quarters of the chocolate evenly over the berries. Repeat layers with remaining sponge fingers, coffee mixture and cream. Cover and place in the fridge to soak overnight.
Step 3 of 3
Set aside remaining frozen berries at room temperature 30 minutes before serving (this helps to keep their shape). Arrange berries over cream. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate.
