  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 800grams canned diced Italian tomatoes
  • 2tablespoons tomato paste
  • 700grams slow-cooked beef brisket
  • 400grams La Molisana Pastificio Extra Di Lusso High Protein Fusilli Pasta
  • 60grams parmesan, finely grated
  • 1/4 bunch basil, leaves picked

Description

La Molisana high-protein fusilli, the unassuming hero of this dish, and tender beef brisket deliver a comforting pairing that will make tastebuds swoon.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Heat oil in a large deep-frying pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes or until soft. Add canned tomatoes and paste and cook for 2-3 minutes or until heated.

Step 2 of 4

Shred beef into smaller chunks and add to the sauce. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until reduced slightly.

Step 3 of 4

Meanwhile, cook pasta following packet instructions. Drain, reserving 1 cup cooking water.

Step 4 of 4

Add sauce sachet from beef brisket packet, reserved pasta water and pasta to beef mixture. Toss for 1-2 minutes or until combined. Serve sprinkled with parmesan and basil.
