Woolworths has been ranked as Australia’s healthiest when it comes to our ‘own brand’ products* for the fifth year in a row based on mean Health Star Rating.

At Woolworths, we’re passionate about helping Aussies and their families eat healthier. We live in a world with more choices and products on offer, so it’s important that our customers understand the nutritional content of the food and drinks in their kitchens.

In The George Institute’s 2023 FoodSwitch: State of the Food Supply report, Woolworths was ranked as having the healthiest own brands, with an average Health Star Rating of 3.4 compared with other major supermarkets*. It's another one of the ways we are making healthier easier for our customers.

Woolworths own brands

The variety of delicious Woolworths brands covers a wide range of products, from convenient salads to ready made meals, bakery, dairy foods and more. Since 2012 we’ve been working hard to improve the nutrition of our own brand products, however we know there’s still more to do.

Last year we removed 41 tonnes salt, 40 tonnes sugar and 80 tonnes of saturated fat^ from our own brand products. We also display Health Star Ratings on all intended products in the Woolworths Food Range to help you choose healthier alternatives more easily.

Along with nutritionist approved recipes, we’re committed to making healthier easier for all Australians. This means encouraging the enjoyment of seasonal fresh food, providing inspiration with healthier fresh ideas, and making healthier choices more affordable.
