Description
Indulge in layers of rich chocolate cake, tangy cherries and velvety whipped cream in convenient individual jars, making the classic Black Forest experience a delightful treat for any occasion.
Method
Step 1 of 3
To make cherry sauce, combine cherries, sugar and lemon juice in a medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil, then simmer, stirring occasionally, for 2-3 minutes, or until cherries are soft. Add combined cornflour and 2 tsp water and bring to the boil. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
Step 2 of 3
Divide cake into 6 x 240ml-capacity serving glasses. Spoon over 1 tbs sauce. Using an electric mixer, beat cream in a small bowl until soft peaks form. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a 1cm star nozzle. Pipe cream over sauce.
Step 3 of 3
Spoon over remaining sauce. Sprinkle with pistachios. Top with cherries. Serve.
