  • 2 1/2teaspoons baking powder
  • 60grams unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sultanas

Description

Bursting with sweet sultanas, these wholemeal scones are a cinch to make. Prepare yourself a cuppa as they come out of the oven and enjoy.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2 of 4

Place flour, baking powder, butter, sugar, milk and sultanas in a large bowl. Using a wooden spoon, mix to combine.

Step 3 of 4

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until just smooth (don’t over-knead). Flatten dough until 2cm-thick. Using a 5cm-round cookie cutter, cut out scones. Press leftover dough together and repeat to make a total of 12 scones.

Step 4 of 4

Place scones, just touching, on tray. Bake for 18 minutes or until golden and hollow when tapped on top. Cool for 10 minutes, then serve.
