Description
Lighten up your favourite gratin with a mix of turnip and potato and plenty of pepper.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Add the cream to a heavy bottomed saucepan with thyme sprigs and gently bring to the boil. Remove from the heat and leave to infuse for 20 minutes. Remove the thyme.
Step 2 of 3
Grease a baking dish with butter. Arrange the turnip and potato slices in layers, sprinkling over black pepper as you go. Pour over the cream, top with grated gruyere and dot with butter.
Step 3 of 3
Bake for 40 minutes, until golden and bubbling.
