Description

Thaw out youngsters with a warm and nutritious egg-and-cheese version of their favourite snowman, Olaf, in toast form.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Cut egg in half lengthways. Using an egg half, make a cut crossways 3cm up from the base of the egg to form the base of the body. Trim top of remaining piece of egg to 1.8cm wide to form the second body piece.

Step 2 of 4

Trim base of remaining egg half to 3.5cm lengthways. Then, cut lengthways on an angle to create a head shape 7mm wide at top and 2cm wide at bottom. Cut 2 x 1cm rounds from remaining egg white to create feet. Then 1cm x 4mm piece from egg white to create teeth.

Step 3 of 4

Toast bread until golden-brown. Reserve 1/4 tsp ricotta. Lightly spread toast with remaining ricotta. Using the picture as a guide, arrange feet, body pieces and head on toast. To make Olaf’s nose, trim carrot to form a 5mm x 1.5cm triangle. To make Olaf’s eyes, cut 2 x 4mm rounds from nori and arrange on head. To make Olaf’s eyebrows, cut 2 x 1x4mm pieces from nori and arrange above eyes on head. Arrange carrot nose under eyes. To make Olaf’s mouth, cut 1 x 1.2cm semi-circle shape from nori and arrange under carrot nose. Arrange teeth on top of nori mouth.

Step 4 of 4

Cut 3 small thin strips of nori about 1.5cm long to create Olaf’s hair. Using the picture as a guide arrange, above head and insert under head to secure. Cut 2 x 4cm long thin strips from nori to create arms. Using the picture as a guide, arrange on toast. Using reserved ricotta and the picture as a guide, attach currants to the body to create buttons. Serve.
