- 300grams basmati rice
- 3tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onions
- 400grams beef mince
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 1/2teaspoons ground allspice
- 3/4teaspoons ground cloves
- 1teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 bunch parsley
- 90grams chopped almonds
- 80grams sultanas

Description
This spiced fruit and nut spiked rice is a delicious taste of the middle east.
Method
Step 1 of 4
Place the rice in a bowl and pour over enough boiling water to cover. Set aside to soak.
Step 2 of 4
Heat half of the oil in a large, non-stick frying pan on a medium heat and cook the onions and mince for 8 minutes, stirring every so often, until browned. Add the garlic and half of the allspice, ground cloves and cinnamon and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 3 of 4
Drain the rice well and season with the remaining spices. Pour over the mince mix and add 600ml of water and the remaining oil to cover the rice. Increase the heat and bring to the boil. Cook until much of the water has been absorbed, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes until the liquid has been completely absorbed and the rice is cooked.
Step 4 of 4
Remove from the heat and set aside for 10 minutes. When ready to serve, cover the pan with a plate and flip to release it. Top with chopped parsley, toasted almonds and sultanas and serve.
