  • 1/2 cup basil leaves, roughly chopped

Description

Make the best homemade pizza with this delicious pizza sauce recipe, rich in tomato and herbs. You can also toss it through pasta for a bold tomato pasta sauce.

Method

Step 1 of 3

Place tomato in a food processor or blender and process until smooth.

Step 2 of 3

Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and cook for a further 1 minute.

Step 3 of 3

Add tomato, bay leaf, oregano, sugar and vinegar, then bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until thickened. Season well, then stir in basil.
