9 Ingredients
- 2teaspoons rapeseed oil
- 500grams 5% fat minced beef
- 1 large white onion, peeled and diced
- 1 large carrot, peeled and diced
- 5 cloves garlic, peeled and diced
- 800grams passata tomato
- 1tablespoons dried mixed herbs
- 360grams spagetti
- 1 medium leek, washed and sliced
Description
A classic hearty Italian dish. This spaghetti bolognese is a welcome staple to every dinner table.
Method
Step 1 of 8
Dice the onions, leek, carrot and garlic.
Step 2 of 8
Add the oil to a pan on medium to high heat.
Step 3 of 8
Add the mince to the pan and break up and spread evenly for 15 minutes.
Step 4 of 8
Once the mince has change colour to brown and the fat has evaporated, add the vegetables and herbs.
Step 5 of 8
Continue to fry for a further 5 minutes, use water to loosen up ingredients as needed.

Add the passata to the pan also with the mix and turn to a low heat for 10-15 minutes stirring constantly.
Step 7 of 8
Add the pasta to another pan of boiling salted water and ensure all pasta eventually is under water for 8-10 minutes.
Step 8 of 8
Once the pasta is soft, remove from pans and serve with the bolognese.
