  • 500grams gnocchi, fresh
  • 1tablespoons olive oil
  • 500grams beef mince, lean
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
  • 200grams chestnut mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 500grams garlic and herb passata
  • 2 balls mozzarella, torn

Description

Gnocchi is a tasty alternative to pasta in this rich Bolognese bake.

Method

Step 1 of 4

Fill a large pot with water and bring to the boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to pack instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 2 of 4

Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Heat the oil in a large pan on high heat, add the mince, onion, mushrooms and garlic and cook for 6-8 minutes, until the mince has browned and the onions and mushrooms have softened.

Step 3 of 4

Pour the passata into the pan, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in the gnocchi and mix well to coat with sauce.

Step 4 of 4

Pour the sauce and gnocchi in to an ovenproof dish and scatter torn mozzarella on top. Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbling and serve.
