Description
Need a mid morning snack? Condensed milk should be a cupboard staple, because with only a handful of ingredients and an hour, you can have a delicious cake.
Instruction tip
I used Queen's popcorn essence in lieu of vanilla paste and it gave the cake a beautiful burnt caramel taste. I topped the cake with a dusting of icing sugar and served it with defrosted mixed frozen berries (a healthy coulis)
Method
Step 1 of 4
Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius (my oven is fan forced), grease and lightly flour cake tin.
Step 2 of 4
In a bowl, combine all ingredients and beat on medium speed using electric beaters until the mixture has combined and slightly changed in colour.
Step 3 of 4
Pour batter into pre-prepared tin and bake for 30-45 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Time variation depends on pan style - round vs baba
Step 4 of 4
Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before turning on to a wire wrack to cool completely.
