- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup milk
- 125grams butter, at room temperature
- 200grams dark chocolate, roughly chopped
- 2teaspoons cinnamon
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup caster sugar
- 1L vegetable oil (for deep frying)
- 395grams sweetened condensed milk
Method
Step 1 of 4
Combine milk, butter and 1/4 cup sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until butter has melted and mixture comes to the boil. Add flour. Stir vigorously until mixture comes away from the sides of the pan and forms a ball. Cool for 10 minutes.
Step 2 of 4
Transfer mixture to a food processor. Add eggs to dough, 1 at a time, and pulse until combined (dough should be thick and glossy). Spoon dough into a disposable piping bag fitted with a 1cm star nozzle.

Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar in a large shallow bowl and set aside. Place condensed milk and chocolate in a medium heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, taking care base of bowl does not touch water. Stir until melted and smooth.
Step 4 of 4
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Carefully pipe dough into oil, cutting into 10cm lengths. Cook 2-3 at a time for 2-3 minutes or until golden and cooked through. Remove using a slotted spoon and coat with cinnamon sugar. Transfer to plates. Repeat with remaining dough. Serve with chocolate sauce.
