- 100grams cherries, drain and keep liquid and chop the cherries
- 40grams almonds, chopped
- 110grams plain flour
- 1/2teaspoons baking powder
- 30grams caster sugar
- 30grams butter
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 1teaspoons almond essence
Description
This sweet scone recipe has an added nuttiness of almond.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. In a mixing bowl, combine the butter with the sugar, salt, almond essence and 2 tbs of the juice from the cherries.
Step 2 of 3
Once the mixture become fluffy, incrementally sift in the flour, baking powder and caster sugar and combine fully.
Step 3 of 3
Add the chopped almonds and cherries and combine fully and incrementally add the almond milk if you need to loosen the dough. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
