  • 330grams chicken mince
  • 3 rashers bacon, diced
  • 1tablespoons butter (or margarine)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1teaspoons chicken stock powder
  • 1 brown onion, diced
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 40grams grated tasty cheese

Description

An easy (and very tasty) pie - perfect for a cold winter's night!

Method

Step 1 of 6

Preheat oven to 180 deg Celsius.

Step 2 of 6

Dry fry chicken mince, diced onion and diced bacon then set aside.

Step 3 of 6

Melt butter in a saucepan then add flour and chicken stock powder stirring well.

Step 4 of 6

Reduce heat to low and gradually add milk stirring constantly as sauce thickens. Simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cheese and mince mixture. Allow to cool.

Step 5 of 6

Spoon mounds of pie filling mix on a sheet of puff pastry (I made 4 large pies but you could do 6 smaller ones). Lay second piece of puff pastry over the top and cut to separate pies before crimping edges with fork to seal.

Place pies on baking paper lined baking tray and brush pastry with beaten egg using pastry brush. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Place in oven and cook for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
