- 6 candy canes, broken
- 300grams dark chocolate, broken into pieces
- 150milliliter Devondale long-life thickened cream
- 50grams Devondale unsalted butter
- 2 drops peppermint essence
Description
Spoil loved ones this Christmas with indulgent dark-chocolate-and-candy-cane truffles with a hint of peppermint.
Method
Step 1 of 3
Using a mortar and pestle, gently pound candy canes until finely crushed. Place on a plate.
Step 2 of 3
Place chocolate, cream, butter and essence in a large heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. (Don't let the bowl touch the water.) Stir for 5 minutes or until mixture is melted and smooth. Remove saucepan from heat. Remove bowl from water. Chill for 30 minutes or until firm.
Step 3 of 3
Using 2 tsp quantities at a time, shape chocolate mixture into balls. Roll ball in crushed candy canes to lightly coat. Chill until required.
