Description

A lovely light biscuit which is crunchy on the outside and most delicate on the inside with a hint of zest. Most perfect for afternoon tea!

Method

Step 1 of 4

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium high heat on the stove until it starts to foam. Once it starts foaming swirl the saucepan to keep an eye on it until it becomes a light brown colour. Then transfer to a mixing bowl to slightly cool.

Step 2 of 4

While the butter cools wash an orange and grate the whole rind finely. Prepare your other ingredients too.

Step 3 of 4

Mix the sugar and butter to beat slightly. Add the egg and orange rind to beat in. Then add the flour to mix well.

Step 4 of 4

Drop small spoonfuls onto lined baking trays. Bake on 175 degrees for 8 minutes then turn the trays around to cook a further 5 minutes.
