This famous ?signature? pinot grigio from Northern Italy's Alto Adige Region is a delicious crunchy style with pale straw colour, intense pear, honied apple, lemon curd aromas, generous pear, crunchy apple flavours and a refreshing crisp palate. The fruit is sourced from vineyards below the Italian Alps at elevations of around 300 to 450 metres above sea level on largely alluvial soils. The wine is cold vinified in stainless steel vats to promote aromatic freshness and pure fruit flavours. Organic land management (with accreditation soon) and other sustainable projects focussing on renewable energy, zero-carbon emissions and recycling are employed. Santa Margherita pioneered pinot grigio during the 1960s and established a world-wide reputation for its fresh fruity and minerally pinot grigio style. Intense varietal expression and linear freshness epitomise modernity and versatility. Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with a meal of many types, especially antipasto, seafood, pasta, chicken, veal and cheeses. Vegan friendly wine.
