Filling
- 250grams date, paste or stoned, chopped dates
- 1 knob butter
- 1/2teaspoons cinnamon
- 125grams icing sugar
Pastry
- 500grams plain flour
- 1 pinch baking powder
- 125grams granulated sugar
- 250grams butter, melted
Method
Step 1 of 5
Preheat the oven to 150°C.
Step 2 of 5
Make the pastry by mixing all the ingredients to form a dough. Leave it to rest while you make the filling.
Step 3 of 5
Mix all the ingredients for the filling and form into balls the size of a hazelnut.
Step 4 of 5
Form the pastry into balls the size of a walnut. Press a ball of filling into each one, close the pastry around it, then fashion it into the shape of a crescent.
Step 5 of 5
Place on an oiled baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and dredge each crescent through the icing sugar to coat on all sides.
