Founded by Emil and Franziska Schwob, Schwob's Swiss Bakery started as a small bread and pastry shop in Chapel Street in 1954. Word spread, sales grew and soon people were coming from all over Melbourne to buy Schwob's delicious Swiss bread. Fifty years on, the family are still using Emil's traditional time honoured methods showing patience, perseverance and a devotion to making quality baked goods.
Swiss Farmers Light Rye
Using the original method developed by Emil's out Swiss Farmers Light Rye has a thick, chewy crust and a distinctive earthy flavour. This hearty moist bread is perfect for open sandwiches, as an accompaniment to cheese or delicious toasted for breakfast.
