Cantrill Organics

Cantrill Organics, Australia’s largest organic cherry orchard, is a family owned and operated orchard located in Nashdale, Orange NSW. The $500,000 grant from Woolworths will fund a state-of-the-art all-weather cover to protect the crop from rain, hail and in some cases birds, to help ensure a full, consistent crop of organic cherries every year.

Cantrill Organics has been a previous recipient of the Woolworths Organic Growth Fund, securing a grant to purchase new cherry varieties and undertake an innovative, new tree planting method. This current application for funding will enable the Cantrills to install weather protection infrastructure, providing increased confidence of a consistent, healthy, and substantial crop each and every year.

Volatile weather patterns and heavy rain and flooding over the past two years has impacted the annual organic cherry crop and created a level of uncertainty that most Australian farmers are all too familiar with.
