Alfalfa sprouts add interesting flavour and texture to salads and sandwiches. They are tiny silvery shoots with tiny green leaves at their tips. They have a mild flavour and slightly crisp texture. Alfalfa sprouts are available all year round.

Alfalfa sprouts shouldn’t have any brown tinges, and should look and smell fresh.
To Store
Wrap in paper towels then store in the fridge for 4 to 5 days

Quick ideas with ALFALFA SPROUTS
- For a fresh sandwich idea, combine alfalfa sprouts with beetroot slices, avocado slices, grated carrot and shredded chicken. Sandwich between thick slices of wholegrain bread.
- For a fresh salad, combine cherry tomatoes, cos lettuce leaves, sliced avocado and alfalfa sprouts. Whisk together a little lemon juice and olive oil then drizzle over salad before serving
