Fundraising BBQs

Are you looking for a way to raise money for your local community group or charity? 
We can lend you our BBQ equipment and a shade gazebo so that you can host a community fundraising BBQ outside our stores. It’s an opportunity for you to raise much needed funds by simply cooking a BBQ and selling to the general public.

How do I arrange a community BBQ?
Bookings are made on a first-in, first served basis. All you need to do is complete the Community BBQ Application Form and hand it in to your local store. The store manager will then contact you to confirm your booking and available date. See the form for more details about further requirements from certain local councils and Woolworths.

What time/days can I conduct a community BBQ?
Sausage sizzles are only available on a Saturday and Sunday - you can discuss suitable times with your store manager. Remember you will need to arrive 1 hour before the agreed time to set up the BBQ!

How much money can I expect to raise?
You can ask at your local store what other groups have raised to get an idea of a realistic aim for your own group. But, it’s really up to you as to how successful you make your BBQ! Sausage sandwiches must be sold at $2 each and cans of soft drink must be sold at $1 each to ensure consistent and fair pricing for customers at all BBQs.

Can I book in for more than one weekend in a row or multiple times throughout the year?
Our BBQ facilities are in such high demand that unfortunately, they’re not available for use two weekends in a
row. Community groups can conduct multiple BBQs throughout the year if they’re available.

What happens at the end of the day?
You will be required to clean the BBQ equipment and surrounding area with cleaning equipment supplied by Woolworths. We will empty the rubbish bin for you. The ‘BBQ and Accessories Checklist’ will be completed to confirm all BBQ equipment supplied by Woolworths has been returned.

What do I need to bring?
Volunteers to run your BBQ!

We will supply you with:

• A BBQ area
• Gas for the BBQ
• BBQ / electric grill
• BBQ scraper
• Tongs
• Cutting boards
• Rubbish bin
• All cleaning equipment
  

What you need to pre-order from the store:

• Aluminium trays
• Sausages
• Bread
• Onions
• Sauces
• Serviettes
  

These items can be purchased at predetermined ‘community’ prices as indicated on the ‘Community BBQ Order’ form available from the Woolworths Store Manager. Drinks & ice bags may also be purchased at recommended retail price. 
 

Please fill out this form and return it to your local Woolworths Store Manager at least 3-4 weeks before your preferred BBQ date. Good luck!
